Description

Join our Accounting & Finance Department, dedicated to upholding the accuracy of financial transactions, providing crucial data to propel the organization forward. As a Financial Analyst, your role will be instrumental in supporting all aspects of department operations, under the guidance of the VP Accounting & Finance. This position involves performing complex accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP& A) duties to support strategic decision-making processes within the company.

Your FP& A responsibilities will include preparing budget and forecasts, crafting presentation decks, and performing variance analyses. You'll be working closely with department managers to collect budget assumptions and refresh financial forecasts. The successful candidate will be adept at exporting and importing data files in a range of formats and ensuring data integrity.

In the realm of accounting, you'll assist with the monthly closings of the General Ledger and all subsidiary ledgers, prepare and post manual journal entries, and ensure all transactions pertaining to activities from that period are posted accurately. Also, you'll handle all Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities, from entering invoices and bills to setting up vendors and customers correctly in the association's financial system. Additional duties include performing fund accounting for custodial accounts, preparing tax returns, assisting in drafting accounting policies, and helping in the preparation for an annual financial audit. You'll also be an integral member of various special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

We're seeking a candidate with a bachelor's degree, a more quantitative background, and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Exceptional quantitative analysis skills using Microsoft Excel and other analytical tools is imperative. You should have experience in creating compelling presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while meeting strict deadlines are also required.
