Key Responsibilities:
- Support our current Sybase ASE 15.7 environment on Solaris in an x86 hardware setup as we transition to SQL Server over the next few years.
- Collaborate with senior DBAs to perform after-hours implementations and assist with ongoing projects, such as weekly data fixes (Thursdays and Fridays).
- Provide strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a formal change control environment.
- Assist with SQL Server DBA tasks, working with Windows Server and managing clusters and Disaster Recovery across development, test, and production environments.
- Participate in our on-call rotation (Saturday morning to Monday morning) after an initial onboarding period. Overtime and weekend work is minimal, scheduled, and customer approved.
- Experience working in Sybase ASE 15.7 environments, with knowledge of UNIX and CRON jobs.
- Basic to intermediate experience as a SQL Server DBA (versions vary), working with Windows Server.
- Familiarity with both on-premises and Azure SQL Server environments.
- Desired: Experience in database migration from Sybase to SQL Server.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in formal change control environments.
- Full-time (40 hours/week), Monday to Friday.
- Hybrid schedule with two days onsite.
- Minimal overtime and weekend work (scheduled project-based).
