Eaton Mission Systems, formally known as Cobham Mission Systems, is seeking a Quality Engineer. This position is based out of our Davenport, IA facility.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $65250.0 - $95700.0 a year.

What You’ll Do
- Interface with engineering disciplines and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
- Serve as Quality Engineering member on configuration control board (CCB), material review board (MRB), and Integrated Product Teams (IPT).
- Drive for continuous improvement for the production lines assigned.
- Design or specify inspection and testing mechanisms and equipment.
- Perform necessary tests with equipment and effectively document test results.
- Formulate or assist in the preparation, review, and approval (if applicable) of quality documents such as plans, policies, procedures, and reports.
- Participate in and/or perform various audits along with compiling corresponding reports when required.
- Assist with the implementation of quality processes, procedures, work instructions, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage customer and internal communications in a timely and professional manner, ensuring they are handled as required.
- Provide support relative to the collection and analysis of quality data.
- Document and report concerns via internal tracking methods including but not limited to nonconformance records.
- Ensure both customer and regulatory requirements are met.
- Support the adherence of business management system (BMS) processes by all functions.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, customer quality requirements, and company quality requirements to ensure compliance with the customer’s expectations.
- Perform Root Cause Corrective Action utilizing disciplined methodologies such as 8D to ensure effectiveness.
- Witness and audit the building and testing of product as needed.
- Perform risk analyses and implement associated mitigations.
- Review and approve work instructions.
- Assemble and verify customer PPAP submissions for acceptance as needed.
- Review all customer/program deliverables/activities and verify for their completeness.
Required (Basic) Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Field (i.e., Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering)
- 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment supporting ISO Quality Management Systems
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future
- No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within 70 miles of the Davenport, IA facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee
- 1 year of experience with AS9100/ISO9001 (aerospace), MIL-STD, ISO13485 (medical), or IATF 16949 (automotive)
- 1 year of experience with Six Sigma, Root Cause Analysis Tools, Lean Manufacturing, Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Lifecycle Management (LCM) experience.
- 1 year of experience in reading and interpreting technical documents, including prints (GD&T), drawings, and engineering orders.
- Military aviation or aircraft modification experience
- ASQ (American Society for Quality) Certified Quality Engineer or Certified Reliability Engineer
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) experience is highly desired, including associated tools such as characteristics matrices, process flow diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
