The Surgery Scheduler (Certified Medical Assistant) provides professional clerical support following established standards and practices. This position is responsible for scheduling surgery appointments along with other clerical duties.

• Schedules patients for surgery and follow up appointments.
• Checks in with patients following surgery.
• Verifies insurance benefits.
• Coordinates referrals related to pending surgeries.
• Schedules patients for Level 2 sonograms.
• Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
• Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.
• Demonstrates and embodies the Women’s Care mission and core values.
• Compliance with all HIPAA rules, regulations, and guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Minimum two years surgery scheduling experience, hospital based or clinic based.
• Prior experience verifying patient benefits.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
• Ability to be a self-starter that can multi-task in a stressful, deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system, preferably eCW.
• Medical Assistant triage experience a plus
• Must be dependable, reliable, and punctual.
