About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director to spearhead Corporate Strategy & Development initiatives at Howard Hughes. In this capacity, the selected candidate will report directly to Howard Hughes’ Chief Executive Officer, undertaking the responsibility of conducting comprehensive analyses of prevailing market trends, evaluating the performance of HHH’s existing portfolio and assessing a wide range of strategic investment opportunities. These opportunities encompass real estate acquisitions and dispositions, forging strategic partnerships, analyzing new commercial developments, exploring potential merger & acquisition prospects, and identifying opportunistic financing avenues. This pivotal role provides substantial visibility across all business verticals within Howard Hughes and is regarded as a seeding ground for future executive leaders within the company. Success in this position requires a passion for excellence, meticulous attention to detail, an ability to provide innovative solutions to intricate challenges, effective collaboration skills, and a robust understanding of finance and real estate valuation techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Create and maintain financial models that will be used to evaluate returns, cash flows, and valuation metrics for various strategic investment opportunities.
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for the executive management team and Board of Directors, outlining key financial metrics and strategic initiatives of the Company.
  • Drive multiple key strategic projects across functions and business segments that have enterprise-wide implications.
  • Conduct in-depth research and analysis on potential investment opportunities, current market trends, property performance, and historical company results to facilitate management decision making.
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis based on requests received by executive management that largely consists of compiling large data sets into a concise narrative via presentation decks and written memos.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to formulate investment strategies, assess risks and provide recommendations that will drive increased shareholder value.
  • Monitor and analyze market conditions, economic indicators, and regulatory changes impacting commercial real estate and residential housing.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging trends, and innovative strategic investment strategies that will drive disproportionate growth for Howard Hughes.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, real estate, or related fields; MBA, CFA and/or CPA desirable, but not required.
  • 7+ years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, capital markets, and/or corporate finance.
  • Strong work ethic, consistent attention to detail, and unchallenged integrity; able to work overtime as required.
  • Self-starter and ability to work with little supervision; desire to take on multiple time sensitive projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior strategic and analytical skills; in-depth experience with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods.
  • Inquisitive and intellectually curiosity; strong written and verbal communication skills to develop presentations, facilitate discussions, and simply and clearly communicate complex concepts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to interact effectively across a wide variety of departments.
  • Excellent problem solver and critical thinker; track record of demonstrating sound judgment when making decisions.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
