Contract type: Full time
Mars United Commerce Powered by Marilyn is a global commerce company that delivers all the solutions clients need to grow their business today and tomorrow. Founded by the late Marilyn Barnett, we’ve become global leaders in four key commerce disciplines – Strategy & Analytics, Digital Commerce, Content & Experiences, and Retail Consultancy – that together form a United Commerce Ecosystem that provides all the expertise clients need to navigate the commerce marketing landscape. Our 800+ Martians across North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia exist to drive growth for our people, our clients, and our communities all across the globe.

We're looking for a Senior Vice President (SVP), E-Commerce, to lead our E-Commerce department, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Digital Commerce. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with deep expertise in E-Commerce strategy, operations, and innovation. The SVP, E-Commerce will be a critical partner in driving the evolution of our media offerings, ensuring the successful execution of E-Commerce initiatives that align with our broader digital commerce goals, and optimizing cross-functional collaboration. They will work in a hybrid remote capacity from one of the Mars United Commerce offices. Candidates must reside in a commutable distance to one of Mars United Commerce’s hub locations: Minneapolis, Detroit, Chicago, Cincinnati, New York, Bentonville, Dallas, Seattle or Nashville.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Department Leadership & Operations: Lead and oversee all operations within the E-Commerce department, establishing and maintaining high standards, processes, and best practices to drive efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure seamless integration across teams and consistency in delivering high-quality E-Commerce solutions.
  • Strategic Vision & Evolution: Collaborate with the EVP of Digital Commerce to shape and continuously evolve the department’s vision, ensuring it aligns with broader company goals. Lead the development of innovative E-Commerce offerings that respond to market trends and customer needs.
  • Functional Leadership: Manage and mentor E-Commerce functional leads, providing guidance and support to ensure they can effectively lead their teams. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and professional growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with key departmental leaders (Customer Development, Client Leadership, Media, Analytics, Operations, etc.) to ensure our E-Commerce offering is tightly integrated with the company’s broader United Commerce Ecosystem and delivering optimal Total Business results for clients.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Influence: Position Mars United Commerce as a thought leader in the E-Commerce industry and with key senior clients. Develop and share innovative ideas, participate in industry forums, and represent the company at key events to enhance our reputation and influence in the E-Commerce space.

SKILLSETS REQUIRED:

  • Proven experience in a senior E-Commerce leadership role, ideally within a large-scale, fast-paced organization.
  • Deep understanding of E-Commerce strategy, planning, and execution across various channels & partners (with a focus on Amazon, Instacart and other On-Demand/Last-Mile marketplaces).
  • Strong track record of driving innovation and leading cross-functional teams to achieve strategic goals.
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter with a deep sense of accountability, creativity, resourcefulness and passion for business and dissatisfaction with the status quo (always thinking of ways to improve and grow).
  • Dynamic and inspiring leader who can get a team to deliver top performance every day against assigned business, and effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences.
