Our organization seeks a motivated and skilled Infrastructure Engineer who can design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions that align with our business needs. This role is paramount to ensuring optimized and secure cloud operations.

This is a fully remote, full-time position.

*Responsibilities*

Infrastructure Development And Maintenance

  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of cloud infrastructure using AWS platforms like AWS
  • Help in developing and deploying Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

Automation And Optimization

  • Contribute to the automation of deployment processes, aiming to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Assist in the optimization of cost, system performance and resource utilization.
  • Assist in developing automation scripts and tools to streamline system installation, configuration, and maintenance processes.

Continuous Integration And Deployment

  • Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Support development teams in integrating their solutions into the automated pipeline.

Collaboration And Support

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the seamless integration of applications and services.
  • Provide technical support to development teams, helping to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Monitoring And Incident Response

  • Assist in implementing monitoring solutions to ensure system health and to identify issues proactively.
  • Participate in the incident response process, helping to restore services in case of outages and learning to manage system recoveries.
  • Help in setting up monitoring systems using tools like NewRelic, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, or Splunk to ensure system stability and performance.
  • Participate in developing alerting mechanisms to notify teams of potential issues proactively.

Documentation And Knowledge Sharing

  • Document procedures, configurations, and specifications, ensuring that knowledge is effectively shared across the team.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of a knowledge base to facilitate continuous learning and team development.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand their needs and develop solutions accordingly.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance team skills and expertise.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including system designs, configurations, and procedures.
  • Support compliance initiatives by adhering to established IT policies and guidelines.

Professional Development

  • Continuously learn and keep up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in the cloud and DevOps space.
  • Take part in internal and external training to develop the necessary skills and knowledge for career growth.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S Citizen or a Green Card Holder.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of cloud infrastructure engineering experience, focusing on AWS Cloud Platform.
  • Proven professional experience designing, developing, and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking solutions and principles, including VPC, CDN, load balancing, and VPN configurations.
  • Experienced with containerization technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring, logging, and alerting tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Splunk, DataDog, NewRelic).
  • Knowledge of cloud database solutions, both SQL (e.g., RDS, Azure SQL) and NoSQL (e.g., DynamoDB, Cosmos DB).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in government consulting preferred.
  • Experience in management consulting is preferred, and a client-facing role is a plus.

Desirable Skills

  • Cloud certification(s) from AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with IaC; Terraform, AWS CDK, Cloudformation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Circle CI).
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., NewRelic, DataDog, Grafana).
  • Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewall rules.
  • Solid knowledge of a scripting language such as Python, Bash, JavaScript, or PowerShell is essential for automating tasks.
  • Knowledge of Docker or similar containerization technologies and understanding of the basics of virtual machines and hypervisors.
  • Good foundation in Linux/Unix fundamentals, as these operating systems commonly run in cloud environments.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, their use cases, and how to interact with them.
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment.

All work must be conducted within the U.S., excluding U.S. territories. Some federal contracts require U.S. citizenship to be eligible for employment.

You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship.

As the US Government is our clientele, you may be required to obtain a public trust or security clearance.

Some of our available roles are on federal contracts that require a degree or additional years of experience as a substitute.
