About The Role

As the Inventory Optimization Manager at Stitch Fix, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-driven insights and strategies to enhance our inventory management. Your work will be key to optimizing inventory availability, improving accuracy, and supporting seamless operations across our fulfillment centers.

In this role, you will use data sourcing, transformation, and analysis techniques to optimize inventory processes, cut costs, and ensure product availability. By analyzing inventory health, you'll establish a baseline and create strategies for improvement.You'll work closely with Warehouse Operations, Algorithms, Systems Engineering, and Finance to align goals and implement effective solutions, directly enhancing operational efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction.

This hybrid position will be based at our Indianapolis, IN warehouse, with responsibilities spanning across all our U.S. facilities. You will support local needs while also contributing to broader organizational objectives in inventory health and optimization. As a member of the Inventory Control Team, you will report directly to the Inventory Control Manager.

  • Leverage advanced analytical techniques to identify inventory-related issues, analyze data sets, and develop data-driven solutions that optimize processes and manage costs efficiently.
  • Design and implement advanced KPI metrics and controls to monitor inventory health, identify trends, and drive continuous process improvements across the supply chain.
  • Lead the development and integration of predictive analytics using SQL (Looker) to automate key aspects of the inventory lifecycle, and provide actionable insights.
  • Conduct weekly data-driven business reviews to evaluate inventory health metrics, including shrinkage, and leverage statistical analysis to propose targeted improvements.
  • Synthesize complex data into comprehensive reports and dashboards, conducting deep-dive analytics on operational metrics such as damage rates, adjustments, and inventory aging.
  • Play a pivotal role in the design and deployment of advanced materials management systems, including WMS and RFID technologies, to enhance data accuracy and inventory control.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in accounting, finance, and merchandising to validate data, ensure SOX compliance, and deliver data insights that support organizational growth.
  • Drive the adoption of data science methodologies within the inventory management team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and process optimization.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple high-priority workflows, driving results with precision in a dynamic, cross-functional, and fast-paced environment.

We're Excited About You Because You…

  • Show a solid understanding of Looker (or similar tools) and basic proficiency in SQL to work with large datasets and transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Are highly skilled in Excel and Google Sheets (required), leveraging advanced formulas, pivot tables, complex data visualizations, and automation scripts to manage and analyze data, delivering insights that inform strategic decision-making.
  • Have expertise building and optimizing large, complex workflows that enhance efficiency and scalability in data processing. (Experience with automation tools like Alteryx or Parabola is a significant plus.)
  • Ensure data accuracy and integrity by identifying the correct logic and source of truth in your analyses, while detecting inconsistencies and gaps in workflows to maintain robust and error-free data operations.
  • Have a mindset that is consistently geared toward improvement, with a strategic approach that considers multiple perspectives and the cascading impacts of process and system changes.
  • Value accountability, accuracy, initiative, and have a strong sense of ownership, especially when ensuring item and financial accuracy within the warehouse network.

Compensation And Benefits

Our anticipated compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets, and the range below indicates the low end of the lowest-compensated market to the high end of the highest-compensated market. This position is eligible for new hire and ongoing grants of restricted stock units depending on employee and company performance. Salary Range

$97,125—$97,125 USD
