AP Specialist

Job Summary

The AP Specialist will be responsible for day-to-day financial transactions including accounts payable, corporate credit card reconciliation, and various other transactional issues. The Account Payable Specialist must exercise discretion in executing essential functions and be able to work independently, following through on assignments with minimal direction.

Essential Functions And Responsibilities (not Restrictive)

• Analyzes and processes account payable in a timely manner.
• Codes such items as invoices, vouchers, expense reports, check requests, etc., with correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system.
• Handles all vendor correspondence via phone or email.
• Investigates and resolve problems associated with the processing of invoices.
• Reconciles various accounts on a monthly basis, bringing any discrepancies to the attention of the Accounting Manager.
• Receives, researches, and resolves a variety of routine internal and external inquiries concerning account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons.
• Files, maintain and distributes accounting documents, records, and reports.
• Assist in compiling information and preparing responses to auditors during the annual external audit.
  
  
  

Education, Training:

• Associate degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or Finance from an accredited college/university.
  
  
  

Experience Required:

• 3+ years of AP Accounting experience
• 3+ years of Manufacturing experience
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Understanding of GAAP
• Understanding of Accounting Principles
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time using effective organizational skills and judgment in an environment of frequently changing circumstances.
• Ability to prioritize workload and develop an organized plan of processing and follow through.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Language, Computer & Numeracy

• Ability to read and write in English language
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals, unit of measure conversions.
• Knowledge of SAP, preferred
• Proficient in MS Office applications: Word and Excel
  
  
  

Pay Range : $23.50- $27.00 per hour

Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.
