Medical Scheduler

Description

Robert Half is seeking a Medical Scheduler for our client in the healthcare industry, based in Metairie, Louisiana. This role involves managing and coordinating patient appointments, ensuring efficient operation in our healthcare facility. The Medical Scheduler will also serve as an important link between patients and medical professionals. This position offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule patient appointments using healthcare management systems like Allscripts, Cerner Technologies, and EHR SYSTEM
• Respond to inbound calls from patients, providing them with necessary assistance
• Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient flow and reduce waiting time
• Utilize ADP - Financial Services for accurate billing functions
• Handle patient inquiries, providing them with accurate information and support
• Maintain and update patient records in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
• Use 'About Time' software for efficient time management and scheduling
• Assist patients with their healthcare needs, ensuring they receive the best possible service
• Provide support to the call center customer service team as needed
• Handle additional tasks related to patient scheduling as required by the healthcare team
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services
• Experience with Allscripts and Cerner Technologies
• Familiarity with CRM systems
• Proficient in EHR SYSTEM
• Knowledge of About Time software
• Experience in answering inbound calls
• Ability to assist patients with inquiries and concerns
• Experience with billing functions in a healthcare setting
• Proven customer service skills in a call center environment
• Strong organizational skills for managing schedules and appointments
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle confidential patient information with discretion
• Familiarity with medical terminology and practices is preferred
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle high call volumes
• Willingness to learn new software and processes as necessary
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, further education in healthcare administration is a plus
