Job Summary

The Operations Manager will plan and oversee the daily operations of the service company to ensure goals and objectives are achieved, including customer satisfaction, scheduling efficiency, sales, and team performance management. This role will also be responsible for overseeing team incentives and commission structures to drive motivation and high performance. The manager will ensure that our high standards of service and safety expectations are maintained in all related operations. This position will work out of our Costa Mesa office.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Hires, trains, and supervises service technicians and support staff.
  • Oversees a team with 4-5 direct reports and 25-30 indirect reports.
  • Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of assigned staff.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and per company policy.
  • Manages and oversees employee incentive and commission programs to motivate staff and ensure high performance.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create and implement new systems to streamline operations and increase company profits.
  • Plans and organizes daily activities related to service operations, including maintenance, cleaning, repair, installation services, and sales.
  • Measures productivity and service quality by analyzing performance data, customer feedback, and activity reports.
  • Coordinates with support departments such as human resources, finance, and logistics to ensure successful service operations.
  • Oversees inventory management for supplies and equipment.
  • Determines labor needs and schedules staff to meet service demand and operational goals.
  • Assists with budget preparation for the operations unit, ensuring cost-effective management of resources.
  • Coordinates with marketing and sales departments to determine pricing strategies, seasonal promotions, and customer outreach efforts.
  • Assists with, or prepares and updates, the organization’s operations manual and service policies.
  • Ensures all employees adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of service operations, maintenance, and repair management.
  • Ability to interpret financial and operational data to set service and efficiency goals.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of management experience, preferably in service management or operations.
  • Experience managing a team with direct and indirect reports is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to access and navigate customer sites and service locations.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to stand and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Compensation

Full-time, salaried

$80,000-$110,000 per year
