The Operational Excellence, Value Stream Coach is an operational excellence role within the site and reports directly to the Senior Value Stream Coach. This role will partner directly site leadership to drive the lean transformation within the site to create customer value. The Value Stream Coach will develop a team of capable operational excellence professionals to foster a continuous improvement mindset & build systems that drive ideal behavior.

Responsibilities

Coach and develop functional and operations leaders from the front line to senior managers to build a world class lean enterprise.

  • Coach and develop the full time OpEx change leaders to grow their OpEx knowledge, coaching and change management capabilities
  • Coach all key contributors daily during formal gemba walks on developing a highly effective (standard & stable) Daily Management Excellence system.
  • Increase problem solving capability at the site to achieve incremental improvements in SQDIP metrics by improving systems.
  • Drive transformational change focused on management through Value Stream Analysis & Mission Control improvement system
  • Enable a highly engaged, high performing culture with foundational focus on leading with humility and respect for people.
  • Work with the site leadership to develop value stream maps that establish future state targets on elimination of non-value adding waste and reduction of cycle times
  • Works with the Product Growth Teams to develop strategies and plans to improve customer value of the targeted product lines. Lead, Facilitate & coach the transformation plan that attacks the appropriate levers to maximize margin expansion, with a primary focus on growth and leverage
  • Works with OPEX lean enterprise and the site training department to develop and deliver programs to teach the workforce on lean manufacturing tools and concepts such as problem solving, A3 management, leader as coach, Kanban/pull systems, Kaizen, Value Stream mapping, visual management, mistake proofing, 5S and cellular manufacturing.
  • Works with value stream team to prioritize the continuous improvement activities identified and approved
  • Ensure compliance within the value stream with standard processes and standard tools, helps the value stream team develop and follow their personal leader standard work, and helps develop a culture of process discipline around operators and salary associates following process standard work
  • Assists Product Management Leaders and Project Managers in new product introduction and team related project completion.
  • Supports and meets Departmental, Plant and Corporate EHS goals. Works in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree or related discipline desired (or equivalent education/ training/ experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years lean manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing related safety requirements
  • Knowledge of personal computer applications required (Excel, Word, Visio, and PP). Excellent Team Facilitation Skills
  • Extensive Gemba based continuous improvement-based tools/techniques. Excellent documented leadership skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and production
  • Ability to assign priorities in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Experience leading teams and facilitating cross functional events and workshops
  • Ability to create strategy and execute tactical action plans to achieve goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate, coach and empower team members to be their best
  • Able to mentor and facilitate lean culture change in an environment with varying acceptance

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $95,000 - $125,000

Total compensation for this role will include a commission/incentive plan. Disclaimer: This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed.
