Summary of position:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk verifies, records, and prepares items for incoming and outgoing shipments while acting as a leader to the other employees who are Shipping/Receiving Clerks. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Main responsibilities:

• Participate in unloading the deliveries and responsible for the safety of this process.
• Receives all shipments into the facility
• Verify delivery documentation for accuracy and highlight any issue to Quality Assurance, Purchasing or Project Managers.
• Receive parts in the InforLN System, stamp documents and send them to Quality.
• Conduct VISUAL inspection on all receipts – unpack, load material on carts and deliver to next processing step areas.
• Keep track of packaging material stocks and submit purchasing requisitions with required.
• Ensures outbound goods are packaged and shipped according to customer requirements
• Ensures outbound vendor shipments are packed to prevent damage & corrosion.
• Prepare shipping documents (including exports) and arrange carrier pick-up as required.
• Continuous improvement, Six sigma and other project activity.
• 5-S and cleaning/maintaining of work area cleanliness.
• Adherence to all company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Any other duties assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

• General computer skills
• Must have the ability to fill out bills of lading and be familiar with various forms that are used and required by the major freight carriers.
• Experience with UPS/FEDEX shipment methods.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Demonstrated ability to communicate orally or in written form effectively with co-workers, departments, preferably customers and vendors as well.
• Ability to lift between 50lbs and 75lbs. frequently.
• Must be capable of estimating weight and use weighing instruments.
• Basic carpentry skills.
