Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in enhancing our production processes and ensuring that all operations align with the highest quality standards set by the organization, our clients, and regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough analyses of workflows throughout various departments to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the current KPI monitoring systems and recommend strategic enhancements to bolster operational performance.
  • Develop analytical frameworks that support sound business decision-making.
  • Design, implement, and test upgrades to existing systems and processes to optimize production.
  • Assess capital expenditures and project designs to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Establish and promote best practices, routines, and innovative methods to elevate production rates and output quality.
  • Provide direct support and training to operators in new steelmaking processes, ensuring smooth transitions and high productivity.
  • Collaborate with management to align operational processes with corporate financial objectives.

Required Skills

  • Profound knowledge of casting and metallurgical processes.
  • Experience in leading initiatives focused on Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
  • Strong mathematical and statistical analysis skills.
  • Capacity to establish and manage daily Statistical Process Control (SPC) information and propose improvements.
  • Proficient in analyzing capital expenditures and project proposals.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Aptitude for training operators effectively in new manufacturing processes.
  • Comfort with integrating advanced technology into current organizational practices.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management and metallurgical product development or process engineering within the steelmaking sector, specifically in melting, refining, and casting processes.
  • Extensive understanding of steelmaking metallurgy and the interactions between slag and metal.
  • Proven track record in spearheading Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM initiatives.
  • Willingness to work flexible shifts as required.
