Position Overview

Our Valued Client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our finance team. In this role, you will focus on inventory and cost accounting, assist in the month-end close process, and handle variance analysis and financial reporting. You will collaborate closely with operations leaders and support the Controller by reviewing the work of the accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory and cost accounting, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Assist with the month-end close, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform variance analysis, investigating discrepancies and providing insights for process improvements.
• Review and maintain costing standards to ensure alignment with company practices.
• Assist in preparing financial reports for management and external stakeholders.
• Provide financial analysis and support to operations leaders to drive business performance.
• Collaborate with the Controller in overseeing and reviewing the work of the accounting staff.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, internal controls, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing accounting, with a focus on cost accounting and inventory management.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
