Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Business Intelligence (BI) Engineer to join our Data Technology team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions using modern cloud-based platforms and tools, with a strong focus on optimizing data workflows and providing actionable insights for our business units. As a BI Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving data initiatives that improve our business operations and customer experiences. This role will have a focus in empowering the company to optimize critical business functions within supply chain and logistics.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations that provide critical business insights.
  • Deliver actionable insights and tools that support key supply chain and logistics initiatives across the company
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, gather requirements, and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
  • Create and maintain documentation for BI processes, data models, and reporting solutions.
  • Design, develop, and optimize data models in a cloud data warehouse platform to support complex BI reporting needs.
  • Integrate data from various sources across the enterprise into unified structures, ensuring data consistency and reliability across the organization. - Implement best practices for data governance, access control, and security within the BI environment.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance of BI solutions, ensuring quick response times and accuracy.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineering, Data Science, Infrastructure, and Business Operations, to ensure alignment of BI initiatives with business goals.
  • Provide training and support to less technical end-users on BI tools and functionalities.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in BI and data analytics.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing BI processes and implement new methodologies to enhance data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications And Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business intelligence, data engineering, analytics, data science, or a similar role.
  • Proven experience with a modern cloud data warehousing platform including data modeling, query optimization, and best practices.
  • Extensive experience with a modern data visualization tool, including the ability to create complex reports and dashboards.
  • Expertise in SQL with experience in complex data transformation and translating open-ended business questions into queries and insights.
  • Experience with Snowflake preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Knowledge of at least one scripting language, preferably Python.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain concepts and principles.
  • Retail experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time as the job is completed primarily at a desk each day. Variable desk heights are offered so alternatively sitting and/or standing at the desk is optional.
  • Flexibility to work extended and varying hours as needed.

  • No travel requirements.
