About This Position

The Golf Maintenance Worker I performs manual work to complete skilled tasks of a physically demanding nature in the field of golf course maintenance. They may be required to supervise golf maintenance helpers of a lesser grade. Incumbents must be able to work call-back hours, after normal working hours, weekends, and holidays, as required.

Responsibilities

• Rake bunkers
• Cut cups
• Fill any divots
• Pick up trash on the course
• Mow roughs and greens
• Operate equipment to aerify and maintain the course
• Hand-water the greens
• Edge cart paths
• Work the flower beds and prune trees
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Valid Oklahoma Driver's License and a driving record acceptable to the City's insurance carrier
  

Necessary Skills

• Ability and willingness to work outside during disagreeable weather conditions, if necessary
• Ability and willingness to work call-back hours or after normal working hours
• Ability and willingness to work schedules that include weekends and/or holidays
• Ability to meet the required physical standards for this position
• Ability to pass extensive background process and pre-employment drug, physical, and audio screenings
