Database Administrator

Description

We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Database Administrator in Sunrise, Florida, 33323, United States. The role involves ensuring the performance and security of our healthcare database systems, working closely with our development team to optimize database usage, and maintaining database structures in line with our organizational needs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage our organization's healthcare database systems to meet performance and security standards.
• Analyze the healthcare organization's needs and align the database maintenance and development accordingly.
• Ensure database availability at all times while maintaining optimal performance.
• Develop and maintain database structures that align with the organization's business needs.
• Implement backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability.
• Collaborate with the development team to optimize database usage and improve performance.
• Provide technical support to resolve database usage issues and malfunctions.
• Work with other business units to understand future needs and adapt database strategies accordingly.
• Conduct regular security audits and compliance checks, with a focus on health plan data protection regulations.
• Prepare and present reports on database status, performance, and strategic development to senior management.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, and MySQL
• Must possess substantial experience in Database Administration
• Demonstrated expertise in Database Tuning and Performance optimization
• Knowledge of healthcare/NHS industry is preferable
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is desirable
• Relevant certifications in Database Administration would be a plus
