Bilingual Foster Care and Adoption Support Caseworker - NEW STARTING WAGE

LSI is seeking a part time Bilingual Support Caseworker to provide services to clients and families in support of our NEW Statewide RRTS (Recruitment, Retention, Training and Support) Contract with Four Oaks in our SIOUX CITY service area (Woodbury and surrounding counties).

This position offers flexible scheduling. Workload is primarily remote but occasional travel to office locations for training and/or team meetings is required. Travel is necessary to meet the needs of the clients; LSI reimburses mileage expense.

DUTIES

The Support Caseworker is the single point of contact for foster and adoptive families in their area. Families rely on them to answer questions, concerns, or needs they may have and assists families with placement stability, training and support.

The person in this role will collaborate with a team to match the best home for each child entrusted into our care. The Support Caseworker will be responsible for completing home study renewals and updates for currently licensed resource families within a set timeline.

This position requires the individual to be familiar with all licensing and adoption rules through the Iowa Department of Human Services and the Iowa Code. To best serve our Iowa families, some travel to homes across western Iowa may be required.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants must have one of the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in Social Work
• A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services or Behavioral Sciences related field (Education, Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice, Child and Family Services, etc.) with a minimum of 1 year experience within the child welfare field as a worker or foster parent
  
  

In order to improve family retention, the Support Caseworker must have the ability to communicate effectively and possess the skills, energy, and desire to collaborate with foster and adoptive families with children in their care.

Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) is required.

This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and the criminal history check.
