SUMMARY: The proposal manager is responsible for the preparation, production and delivery of proposals.
Duties Or Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Proposal Coordination team to complete assignment of multiple proposals and related deliverables. The ability to take on a larger bid proposal or multiple proposals at a time is strongly preferred
- Coordinate with multiple parties to compile and track materials for proposals per established deadlines, ensuring that proposal requirements are fully met. This includes managing the proposal schedule and ensuring deadlines are met
- Coordinate the development of the technical proposal among team members by creating and maintaining the compliance matrix that assigns proposal tasks to team members
- Lead the assembly of proposal documents in various software formats, and work with others assembling proposal documents in a professional manner
- Ability to write and edit project summaries, resumes of project personnel, and other supporting information
- Develop and implement a plan to meet Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and Request for Proposals (RFP) requirements and evaluation criteria, and ensure the proposal material being presented is consistent with the requirements of the bid
- Participate with Group Heads in the selection and recommendation of appropriate projects and personnel to be included in proposal, according to the RFQ or RFP
- Maintain current version of RFQ and RFP documents and make them accessible to all team members
- Maintain registration with relevant organizations/associations as required
- Perform other related duties such as involvement in special projects, assistance with creating marketing materials, and attendance at various meetings or functions
- Coordinate bid debriefs including tracking proposal efforts, outcomes and lessons learned that can be applied on future submissions
- Develop and implement win strategies, marketing themes and differentiators in proposal submissions
- Ensure all prepared proposal and qualification submissions are high quality, compliant and communicate our capabilities and value of service
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of the team and the entire organization
- 5+ years’ experience either as a proposal manager or estimating manager or project manager
- 5+ years’ experience with creating, writing, and editing proposals within an industrial construction estimating in the chemical/petrochemical or refining industry
- Experience with commercial proposals and strong technical knowledge
- Ability to read RFQ and RFP documents
- Requires excellent oral, written, computer and presentation skills
- Strong understanding and knowledge of the proposal management process
- Excellent organizational skill and the ability to oversee multiple projects
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
