Key Responsibilities
- Execute installations for radios, antennas, and associated RF equipment.
- Diagnose alarm and RSSI issues at sites utilizing provided sweep gear.
- Conduct electrical and mechanical down tilts for diverse antennas using antenna controller units.
- Facilitate jumper runs to fulfill ongoing work requirements.
- Establish jumper connections based on connector training expertise.
- Complete necessary paperwork regarding equipment and supplies.
- Ascend and perform duties on various communications structures, including guyed towers and rooftops.
- Conduct audits focusing on safety, defects, and construction quality.
- Adhere to daily directives and shift reports.
- Apply relevant job skills and comply with company policies to fulfill assigned tasks.
- Proficient knowledge in mounting, aligning, cabling, and testing antennas, radios, and associated equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting capabilities related to equipment, coax, and fiber, with expertise in fiber testing, PIM, and sweep testing.
- Competence as a climber and rigger, with familiarity in standard knots and controlled descent techniques.
- Skilled in terminating cables, repairing connectors, and managing antenna systems, along with coaxial cable installation on various structures.
- Ability to mentor and provide field training for junior technicians.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in tower installation and maintenance activities.
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Certification as a Tower Climber from Gravitec Systems, Inc. or ComTrain is mandatory.
- Familiarity with grounding installations, tower demolition, and maintenance.
- Previous TMO experience is preferred, with relevant Verizon experience being an advantage.
