What you'll do:
- Develop and coordinate engaging wellness programs in collaboration with the Life Enrichment Director and other Givens departments
- Supervise Life Enrichment staff, including scheduling, training, and managing time clock reports to meet regulatory requirements
- Oversee the development and implementation of a dynamic monthly events calendar for residents
- Manage the production of the weekly "Gazette" newsletter and contribute content as needed
- Maintain amenity spaces (indoor and outdoor) and oversee aquatic and fitness programming
- Coordinate volunteer recruitment, training, and assimilation, working with both Independent Living and Health Services life enrichment staff
- Act as a staff liaison to resident boards and committees, fostering a collaborative environment
- Lead group or individual life enrichment programs and support resident interest groups.
- Organize off-campus events and overnight trips, managing transportation logistics
- Assist with resident orientations and address psychosocial needs in collaboration with the Social Services Director
- Participate in department and campus-wide meetings, contributing to the overall mission of Givens
- Work with Talent Acquisition to help hire, onboard, and train Life Enrichment staff within budgeted guidelines
- Conduct performance evaluations, manage staff schedules, and ensure adherence to the department's annual budget
- Maintain ongoing communication with Health Services and other departments to ensure resident wellness goals are met
- Ensure compliance with Givens' policies and procedures
- A bachelor's degree in gerontology, health promotion, recreational therapy, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience working with older adults, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Creativity and passion for planning diverse, engaging events and programs
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency with computers and software like EMR systems and Microsoft Office
- A valid NC Driver's License and a clean driving record
