Position Summary

The Nuclear Medicine Cardio Aide is responsible for monitoring, documenting and interpreting EKG rhythms and /or hemodynamic lines during stress testing protocols (exercise and pharmacological) and preparing the patient for the procedures. In this role, the Nuc Med Cardio Aide assists with treadmill tests and nuclear medicine myocardial exams; transports patients to and from the Nuclear Medicine department and assists nurses and technologists with other procedures in the department; orders, stocks, and keeps inventory of supplies; and performs data entry of the stress test information into appropriate system(s).

Qualifications

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience demonstrating the ability to effectively communicate as needed for the position is required
  • Successful completion of a Basic Cardiac Rhythms course required
  • Medical Terminology through education or experience in a health care setting required

Experience

  • Experience with EKG's, EKG training, and stress testing protocols (exercise and pharmacological) required
  • Knowledge of oxygen equipment required

Licensure/Certifications

  • BLS: Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider certified through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required upon start
