CAD/BIM Technician Electrical

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Electrical CAD/BIM Technician to join our engineering and operations team. This role is integral to delivering high-quality electrical design solutions using AutoCAD and BIM software. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong analytical mindset, organizational prowess, and a meticulous attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential for effective collaboration within a team or working independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop code-compliant electrical design drawings utilizing AutoCAD and BIM.
• Interpret and analyze architectural and mechanical engineering drawings/blueprints.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to assess internal requirements and create or modify design plans.
• Generate part detail and assembly prints consistent with engineering standards and best practices.
• Produce electrical one-line and three-line diagrams, as well as electrical control schematics.
• Prepare material lists for procurement and fabrication purposes.
• Engage with team members to design intricate components and address design challenges.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM software.
• Solid understanding of electrical power systems and control wiring.
• Experience in creating schematic and wiring diagrams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated with a capability to manage tasks independently or collaboratively.
• Competency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in designing high and low voltage electrical industrial systems and control circuits in accordance with UL, NEC, and NFPA standards.
• Previous industrial electrical installation experience is advantageous.
