Position Overview

The People Operations Specialist will process bi-weekly payroll and maintain employee records. This candidate is responsible for assisting with the administration of payroll, benefit programs and enrollment, employee support, and for maintaining employee database and files, ensuring compliance with required benefit notices.

Responsibilities & Duties

Payroll

  • Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employee’s hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.
  • Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.
  • Collaborates with Finance team to reconcile payroll to the general ledger, bank statements, and taxes.
  • Addresses employee inquiries and ensuring timely follow up and resolution.

HRIS & Systems

  • Provides technical support for People Ops Team and cross functional partners through report creation, generation, and maintenance.
  • Is knowledgeable of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
  • Maintains and enters employee data changes.
  • Conducts internal audits to ensure data integrity through payroll, benefit, and employee data changes.
  • Assists with cross functional audits.

Benefits

  • Assists with the open enrollment process.
  • Assists HR manager in completing benefits reporting requirements.
  • Administers various employee benefits programs, such as group health, flexible spending accounts, dental and vision, accident and disability, life insurance, 401(k), and wellness benefits.
  • Reviews and responds to unemployment claims with appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinates workers' compensation claims with third-party administrator. Follow up on claims.
  • Coordinates trainings and communications to help employees understand company benefits and other related incentive programs.

Qualifications

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical support skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ADP WorkforceNow preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year payroll processing experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of benefit administration experience
