Responsibilities
The Development Engineer is responsible for developing and designing high speed bulk wire products to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards of the business. Individual is expected to collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams in Hamden and China facilities to achieve business goals and objectives. Must be a hands on, growth-oriented individual who has internal drive to improve current product development processes, change management processes and continually drive team to perform to maximum potential.

Responsibilities
The Development Engineer is responsible for developing and designing high speed bulk wire products to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost standards of the business. Individual is expected to collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams in Hamden and China facilities to achieve business goals and objectives. Must be a hands on, growth-oriented individual who has internal drive to improve current product development processes, change management processes and continually drive team to perform to maximum potential.
- Design and validate high-speed bulk wire products for high performance
- Utilize Solidworks and other design tools to create detailed drawings and schematics for testing and product needs.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to product development, including design changes, specifications, and compliance standards.
- Support the implementation of PLM software tools and systems, providing training and support to team members.
- Collaborate with front end and back-end teams during all phases of product design, simulation, prototyping, validation, and production implementation
- Communicate effectively at all levels using visuals (charts), presentations, and emails
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform design practices.
- Bachelors in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent education/work experience
- Experience with CAD - SolidWorks or equivalent
- Experience with PLM software- PTC Windchill preferred.
- Experience in product lifecycle management, particularly in electrical wire design or related industries.
- Experience with new product development and introduction to volume manufacturing
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
