Operations Analyst

We are currently seeking to hire an Operations Analyst to join our Investment Operations & Portfolio Administration Team and support the Private Investment Portfolio.

UNCMC's Investment Operations & Portfolio Administration Teams are responsible for executing trades initiated by the portfolio managers, managing cash and hedging platforms, administering the accounting/finance needs of the investment pool, periodic portfolio reporting to senior management and investors, and collecting and analyzing investment data to aid in investment decisions.

Some things that Operations Analysts are responsible for:

• Providing significant support with the administrative, investment accounting, and performance reporting and monitoring duties, further understanding the drivers of the portfolio through interpretation and analysis
• Interacting with external investment managers, service providers/vendors, and fund administrators as necessary
• Providing functional support to and responding to various requests from the internal Private Investments team
• Assisting with operational due diligence for the private portfolio
• Assisting with the Fund Audit process
  
  

To be considered, Operations Analyst candidates will have and/or be able to demonstrate:

• Bachelor's degree, or international equivalent from an accredited institution, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or Accounting
• 2-5 years' work experience in finance or accounting operations
• Solid understanding of relevant financial, mathematical, and accounting techniques
• Strong computer skills (Intermediate user of MS Office with emphasis on Excel)
• Good oral and written communication skills, effective problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, and an ability to exercise good judgement
• Detail and deadline oriented with ability to multi-task
• Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment while also working independently
• High personal and professional integrity
• Working knowledge of operational investment systems such as Backstop, BNY Mellon NEXEN, and Burgiss Private i / Private Informant is preferred
• A fundamental understanding of financial markets and portfolio measurement and administration is a plus
