Covenant Medical Group is Covenant Health’s employed and managed medical practice organization, with more than 300 top Physicians and providers spanning the continuum of care in 20 cities throughout East Tennessee. Specialties include cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, cardiovascular surgery, endocrinology, gastroenterology, general surgery, infectious disease, neurology, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, occupational medicine, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, primary care, pulmonology, reproductive medicine, rheumatology, sleep medicine and urology.

Position Summary

Responsible for assisting and consulting with the Directors, Operations Managers, Provider and Clinical Staff to provide data, education, training and ongoing support for Practices to achieve and report on Clinical, Quality and Operational Initiatives.

  • Demonstrates and maintains proficiency in applicable computer programs/applications and software including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Revenue Cycle, Electronic Health Record, WQM, Right Fax, Referral Management, and other systems applicable to job duties.
  • Collaborates with appropriate members of Covenant to develop education, data analytics and training to ensure practice workflows meet Clinical, Quality and Operational Initiatives (MIPS, HEDIS, TCM, CCM, PCMH, MA, HCCs, etc.)
  • Provides educational and training opportunities to all new and existing office managers, providers, staff members of the practice and appropriate members of Covenant on a regular and as needed basis to meet Clinical, Quality and Operational Initiatives.
  • Assists new practices and providers with pre and post education for chart preparations to meet all Clinical, Quality and Operational initiatives.
  • Monitors effectiveness of processes, plans, and problem-solves to improve outcomes using analytics and comparisons to national benchmarks.
  • Audits existing reports for Clinical, Quality and Operational Initiatives and follows-up with all practices/providers not meeting benchmarks for each metric.
  • Collaborates with providers, clinical staff, and information technology staff to improve processes that positively impact Clinical, Quality, and Operational goals (includes reporting, training, data audits, analytics and retraining)
  • Provides technical advice on Clinical, Quality and Operational initiatives.
  • Maintains compliance and documentation for governmental regulations and industry requirements regarding Clinical, Quality and Operations Initiatives.
  • Registers all practice and providers with regulatory bodies to achieve Quality and Operational initiatives (QPP, TennIIS, etHIN, state and federal agencies, etc.).
  • Completes upload and submission of all Quality Initiatives (MIPS submissions and others as required on an annual basis).
  • Monitors Public Reporting of data through CMS sites and ensures accuracy.
  • Assists with Audits of all Quality Initiatives (MIPS submissions and Quality initiatives as required).
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education

None specified; will accept any combination of formal education and/or prior work experience sufficient to demonstrate possession of the knowledge, skill and ability needed to perform the essential tasks of the job, typically such as would be equivalent to a high school diploma or GED. Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years’ experience in clinical, quality analytics and/or nursing.
