Cost Accountant

Position Summary: This is a fast-paced, transaction focused environment with emphasis on best practices, continuous improvement, and internal controls.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee AP/AR functions
• Delegate data entry tasks with Accounting Assistant
• Transact and Fully manage Cost Accounting
• Oversee and assist Controller with Cost and Revenue recognition
• Assist HR with Payroll Processing and enter payroll Journal Entries
• Help oversee yearly fiscal inventory
• Required participation in internal training as needed to perform the duties assigned to this role
• Other duties as assigned
  
  

Daily:

• Check Bank account and verify transactions
• Enter cash transactions
• Verify inventory transactions (post periodically)
  
  

Monthly:

• Make month end Journal Entries on behalf on Controller
• Reconcile GL accounts
• Manage Prepaid accounts
• Oversee monthly cycle count
• Work with Controller on rolling up financials to corporate
  
  

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills And Abilities)

• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of accounting principles, laws and regulations
• 2 year Associate degree in Accounting, Bachelor degree preferred
• 2-5 years relevant experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail while producing accurate high-quality work
• Team player that can thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Able to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to produce, understand, and analyze financial reports and data
• Experience with ERP systems, Epicor preferred
• Must be skilled in use of MS – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. - advanced level Excel skills a plus

Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when working on the manufacturing floor where the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; extreme heat and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the manufacturing floor is usually loud.
