Accounts Payable Clerk

Description

We are in search of an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Woodbury, Minnesota. In this role, you will be tasked with managing and maintaining our accounts payable system, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our financial operations. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of duties related to invoice processing, account reconciliation, and vendor interaction.

Responsibilities

• Review invoices and check request submissions for completeness, including necessary approvals and general ledger allocations.
• Charge expense accounts by processing all invoices and check requests using the Accounts Payable module.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Accounts Payable software modules.
• Establish and update vendor and customer lists within the accounting software, obtaining necessary W-9s as needed.
• Prepare 1099s for sole proprietors and handle any related inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve any accounts payable related issues with vendors.
• Process charges from credit card statements accurately and promptly.
• Ensure all vendor invoices are properly filed with appropriate Accounts Payable documentation.
• Assist in monthly/annual accounting close and year-end audit preparation.
• Contribute to the record retention and disposal process for the accounts payable and payroll department.
• Cross-train with other team members to ensure a well-rounded understanding of our financial operations.
  
  

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Clerk role or equivalent
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Grant Accounting practices
• Demonstrable skills in Account Reconciliation
• Knowledge and experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Proficiency in Check Runs
• Demonstrable skills in Coding Invoices
• Experience in Data Entry tasks
• Proficiency in Invoice Processing
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• High level of discretion and judgment in handling confidential information.
