POSITION SUMMARY

As the Depository Services Officer, you are responsible creating, maintaining, and implementing innovative product market strategies that address business banking and commercial segments. You are also responsible for daily management of Bank wide Cash/Treasury Management activities. In this role, you are accountable to supervise the department and adhere to Bank and industry policies and procedures for Treasury Management services, support the efforts of the Treasury team by providing support and guidance in the calling effort. Provide resources and support for calling on new profitable client relationships and the ongoing consultative support and expansion for existing clients. This role is highly visible in the Bank and requires a high level of professionalism and self-awareness. In this role, you are required to be extremely flexible to meet the overall demands of the department and ultimately the Bank.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in the knowledge of sales and functions of Depository Services, including Treasury Management products and services required
  • Knowledge of sales and functions of Treasury Management products and services preferred
  • Experience in analyzing accounts and individual financial needs preferred

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Oversee the depository products and services the Bank offers by:
    • Developing and implementing a team strategy that supports and aligns with the overall bank strategy
    • Providing consistent coaching and direction to the sales staff
    • Evaluating, developing, and maintaining policies and procedures for all products and services
    • Assuring all products and services are compliant with all respective regulations
    • Overseeing and managing the risks associated within all aspects of the treasury management function
  • Successfully meet the established revenue/sales goals by effectively using strategy, sales techniques, marketing, product development, pricing suggestions, bank operations, and employee education
  • Responsible for increasing Treasury Management Services utilization by training bank staff to increase outside calling efforts to current BOT customers who do not utilize Treasury Services as well as new-to-the-bank clients
  • Leading pricing and profitability review of Treasury Management products and services
  • Serve as sales support and subject matter expert of products and functions
  • Effectively assume the role of Remote Deposit Capture Officer of the Bank assuring the necessary procedures are implemented and followed. Properly approve all new Remote Deposit Customers
  • Maintain policies and procedures for areas of responsibility, making revisions as needed. Assure each process is administered properly, within the established guidelines, and policies approved by the Board of Directors on an annual basis.
  • Assure all products and services and the related processes are compliant with all state and federal regulations and bank established guidelines
  • Periodically evaluate and adjust processes related to Depository products and services, including Treasury Management, as needed, while communicating necessary adjustments to appropriate internal committees.
  • Effectively implement any changes to processes and ensure the new process is performed efficiently throughout the organization
  • Actively participate in assigned internal bank teams, including but not limited to, the Product Development Team
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and feedback, to team members on a real-time and continual basis and via two-way communication
  • Select appropriate team members whose differing strengths can be maximized to create a highly productive team
  • Complete cross-training and development training with team members
  • Provide effective employee onboarding, and ongoing training and development opportunities that reflect both the employee’s and the Bank’s needs
  • Develop clear guidelines, goals and timelines while working alongside your team toward a common purpose
  • Establish an environment of continuous improvement
  • Listen to feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Empower team members to improve their confidence, job knowledge and communication skills, and identify, discuss and relay employees’ interest in promotional and career development opportunities
  • Approve timecards and benefit time for direct reports ensuring proper coverage
  • Conduct regularly scheduled bi-weekly one-on-ones with team
  • Ensure job descriptions are current and reflect actual duties of position, to ensure skills, abilities and experience is appropriate for current/and or securing new employees
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and bank policies and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements
  • Actively support the ongoing development of a culturally diverse workforce
  • Complete other duties as assigned as determined by management to be reasonable and beneficial
Physical Requirements

This position largely operates in a professional office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with the Bank’s Cash/Treasury Management clients, committee members, management, and employees. Regular use of the telephone and email for communication is essential. Remaining in a stationary position, frequently operating a computer for extended periods of time, is common. Must be able to accurately gather and process verbal and written information and properly prepare or inspect documents. Good manual dexterity is needed for the frequent use of common, and mobile office equipment, such as computer terminals, calculators, copiers and telephones. Travel in the Bank’s footprint is required. Occasional out-of-town or overnight travel may be required.
