The Role

Are you ready to join the Oregon Driver and Motor Vehicles (DMV) Services - Application Services team as a software developer? In this role, you will work together with a diverse and enthusiastic team delivering solutions for Oregonians. Your work will involve providing application development and production assistance for information systems (IS) applications, ensuring that the needs of both internal DMV staff and the public are met. A Day In The Life

  • Work together with business partners to evaluate business needs for the development of software that changes or re-engineers a business process.
  • Develop alternative solutions by researching existing systems, programs, procedures and pertinent customer data.
  • Perform cost, volume and time estimates to assess or develop new problem solving approaches.
  • Assist in developing requests for proposals and documents for the acquisition of software or software programming services to meet users’ information system needs.
  • Coordinate, implement and support systems various systems that are publicly and internally used.
  • Coordinate joint application development sessions with internal and external partners.
  • Diagnose user problems and system issues on critical DMV systems used to serve the public, law enforcement agencies and other state agencies.
  • Perform logical data modeling and updates to the data dictionary.
  • Process and analyze distributed data within the scope of projects.
  • Examine the impact of changing configurations and identify corrupt or problematic data issues on mission critical systems or interfaces.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of information systems experience in: supporting application development and production for IS applications

OR

  • An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: supporting application development and production for IS applications

OR

  • A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: supporting application development and production for IS applications

What We’d Like To See

  • Demonstrated experience in application development or system analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience using .Net framework, C#, IIS and SQL Server, MoveIt, FileNet, HTML5 or related programs.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating, implementing and maintaining software within an Enterprise environment.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining multiple client-server or browser-based applications, including analysis and design troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated experience as a software developer; developing software solutions by analyzing system needs and; coding, testing and documenting.
  • Demonstrated experience building and maintaining professional and collaborative working relationships.
