A Day in the Life

In this exciting role as a Manufacturing Engineer II on the Plymouth Nathan Lane Manufacturing Engineering team, you will have responsibility for sustaining and improving a variety of production processes. Projects supported in this role can span from capacity expansion, equipment end of life replacement, yield improvement, technology change implementation, quality improvement and lean transformation initiatives. This role will collaborate with the various cross-functional teams inside and outside of the plant including but not limited to Quality, Regulatory, R&D, Operations, Technicians, and external vendors/consultants. This is an in-person role with very limited travel required.

This role is at the Plymouth Nathan Lane facility which supports the Peripheral Vascular Health (PVH) Operating Unit (OU). The PVH OU brings our various peripheral vascular businesses together into one cross-functional, collaborative operating unit to employ the full breadth of our talent, technologies, products, services, and solutions to address the needs of customers and patients across the globe.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional team to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Apply appropriate technical skills and tools, such as DOE, SPC, hypothesis testing, capability studies, Gemba walks, and lean manufacturing tools, to perform in depth analysis, determine root cause, and identify corrective actions.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities including new fixturing, equipment, and inspection solutions.
  • Create test plans and reports to demonstrate technical rationale for associated decisions.
  • Execute validation activities (IQ/OQ/PQ) to implement new fixtures and equipment on existing production lines and to poke and yolk and challenge specifications for existing processes.
  • Manage project timelines and scope, communicating changes and challenges to key stakeholders.
  • Sustain current production through day-to-day support.
  • Understand how to flow requirements from a top-level design down to a manufacturing process specification.


Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 0 years of experience


Nice to Have

  • Medical Device or regulated industry experience
  • Experience managing Quality System Process Documents
  • Experience understanding proper documentation/quality requirements for a regulated environment.
  • Experience Process and equipment Validation and Qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ)
  • Experience with automation, vision, PLC processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Project management experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$79,200.00 - $118,800.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
