Job Summary

The Tooling Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair, and optimization of tools and equipment used in manufacturing processes. This role involves troubleshooting issues, ensuring precision and efficiency in production, and collaborating with engineering and production teams to improve tooling processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Tool Maintenance: Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on manufacturing tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
  • Tool Design Support: Assist in the design and modification of tools and fixtures to enhance manufacturing processes.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of tooling maintenance, repairs, and modifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to support product development and process improvements.
  • Training: Provide training and support to operators on proper tool usage and maintenance practices.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and ensure that all tooling operations comply with company and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining, tool making, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Tooling Technician or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tooling design, and maintenance practices.
  • Proficient in using precision measurement tools and equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
  • Standing for extended periods and working in a manufacturing environment.
