Description

General Responsibilities:

In cooperation with the Global and Regional executive management team, this position oversees quality operations of AM region. This position will work closely with cross-functional teams of each site to ensure that products, processes, and procedures adhere to both internal, customer & certification guidelines and regulatory standards.

Quality Assurance And Compliance

  • Establish and enforce quality standards for products and processes.
  • Collaborate with other members of management to define quality requirements.
  • Develop testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Inspect and verify that products / processes conform to prescribed standards.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Support each site for completion of compliance audits


Process control

  • Collaborate with CFT to implement robust process controls including standard operating procedures, WI and quality check points.
  • Strengthen testing methods and procedures for in-process product inspection.
  • Collaborate with each site to strengthen Change point control.
  • Coordinate horizontal deployment activities by working with CFT (AM & Global)


New Product Launch And Continuous Improvement

  • Collaborate with global CFT for smooth launch of New Models.
  • Provide appropriate phase transition approval.
  • Work with other management members to develop new product designs and manufacturing methods & feasibility assessment.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement.


Personnel Management

  • Lead and develop a quality team to achieve quality objectives.

  • Strong business and financial acumen including the ability to develop and implement strategic business plans to support the attainment of Quality Operation targets.
  • Expert capability, understanding and knowledge of the Quality processes and procedures.
  • Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing related processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with cross functional teams, locally and globally, to meet customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

Includes the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by local management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

  • Supports the regional quality operations in achieving the overall strategic goals and profitability requirements as defined by the strategic plan and budget
  • Collaborate with site operations & site QA leaders to define, monitor and meet CoPQ targets.
  • Work with New models to achieve smooth project launch.
  • Work with other sites to strengthen process & product audits (i.e. LPA).
  • Meets with customers, quality representatives, company personnel and suppliers to discuss and resolve quality problems as required.
  • Directs the continuing review of the quality program and the formulation of new or revised procedures to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency on a company-wide basis.


Qualifications

The Ideal candidate will:

Education: A relevant degree (e.g., Bachelor’s or Master’s) in Engineering, Science, Technical, Business, or related fields.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a senior management (including people management)

Other: Successful background in leading Quality Assurance Function in Automotive sector, preferably with a Tier 1 supplier or OEM.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Travel: Domestic and international required, as needed. The candidate will occasionally need to travel to multiple locations to support quality operations.
