Overview

We are seeking a talented Python Developer for a 6+ month W2 contract position based in Jersey City, NJ. This role requires in-office attendance from Monday to Friday and presents a unique opportunity to work on legacy systems while modernizing our technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing code written in Java and C++ to grasp the business logic.
• Migrate identified functionalities into Python, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with a team of three developers, part of a larger group of 30, on the transition of legacy applications to JPMC’s Athena system.
• Uphold high coding standards and participate in code reviews.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient in Python and Pandas, with a strong foundation in object-oriented programming.
• Experience with C++ and Oracle is beneficial but not mandatory.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies is a plus.
  
  

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, specifically with Python.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline is preferred.
