PROJECT MANAGER

This is a regional position that will cover the seven counties in our region. The base location could be in any of those counties which include Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, and Ottawa.

This full-time position is in compensation Pay Range F that pays from $54,595 to $76,371 annually, plus fringe benefits. Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This Project Manager position will oversee staff who work with special populations such as new Americans, migrant farm workers, and individuals with criminal histories.

Job Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination and completion of varied projects from the time of introduction to the completion of the projects. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of the assigned project, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, monitoring activities, and summarizing progress of the project. Responsibilities are carried out directly, and through supervision of assigned staff, with wide latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the activities of varied and complex projects including assisting in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors.
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress. Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and budget.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of systems and procedures to assure efficient utilization of resources and achievement of objectives in accordance with grant and contract requirements.
  • Develop and conduct training sessions to ensure team members, stakeholders and other related personnel are aware of their respective responsibilities, duties and participation in the projects.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, schedules and costs, and measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Meet budgetary objectives and make adjustments based on financial analysis.
  • Prepare routine and special reports as required.
  • Create project communication plans and report updates and outcomes to leadership, staff and stakeholders.
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks and handle problems that may arise during the project.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with potential donors to ensure current and future funding.
  • Attend professional development activities, seminars, and trainings as required to maintain proficiency.
  • Actively participate in continuous quality improvement processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • The job requires knowledge normally acquired through a Bachelor’s Degree in management, business or related field.
  • Two to four years of experience in project management or event management.
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred.
  • Supervisory skills necessary to effectively manage the daily operations and administration of assigned functions.
  • Ability to apply analytical skills in identifying project problems and potential solutions.
  • Written skills necessary to prepare routine and special reports and other required documentation.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate in both oral and written form with prior experience in public speaking.
  • Communication and organizational skills that contribute to a quality work environment and the ability to work as a team.
  • Planning and time management skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Considerable ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, fellow employees, state and local agencies, and the general public.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain confidentiality while providing patient, friendly, and participant centered services.
  • Physical ability to frequently lift/carry/transport supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. Must frequently sit in one position for extended periods of time.

Working Conditions

  • Normal office environment with little discomfort due to noise, dirt, dust and the like.
  • Local travel may occasionally be required.
