Job Description
Quality/ Research & Development Manager in Food Manufacturing Key Responsibilities:
Quality Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with FDA, USDA, and other regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular quality audits and inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
- Lead investigations into product quality issues, implementing corrective actions and preventive measures.
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met from sourcing to production.
- Manage the development of new products from concept through commercialization, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs.
- Conduct sensory evaluations and testing to assess product quality and acceptability.
- Analyze product formulations and processes to optimize quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to identify opportunities for product innovation and improvement.
- Lead and mentor a team of quality assurance and R&D professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Provide training and support to staff on quality standards, testing procedures, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality processes, research findings, and product development activities.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and stakeholders regarding quality performance and R&D initiatives.
The Successful Applicant
Quality Assurance/ Research & Development Manager in food manufacturing qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance and research & development within the food industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality standards, and best practices.
- Proven experience in product development, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Not for New York City Applicants.
