Quality Engineer - Process

We are looking for Quality Engineer to join our Dayton Quality Team in the unit of GLM (Graphic and Label Materials). The position will be based in Dayton, Ohio.
Quality Engineer is responsible for leading continuous improvement projects, diagnosing root cause of quality defects related to process or materials and creating an intervention plan, and working with a team to designate materials for release or hold.
- Mapping coating and conversion processes
- Applying statistics to measure machine and process capability
- Creating process maps and failure mode effects and analysis
- Drawing information and conclusions from process and quality control data sets
- Driving implementation lean strategies for continuous process improvement
- Communicating intervention strategies crossfunctionally
- Designating disposition of nonconforming material in quality holds
- Knowledge and experience in quality process and project management
- Experience implementing lean manufacturing and quality practices
- Technical education (for example BSc/MSc/PhD) from a suitable field (for example industrial, chemical, mechanical engineering, automation, materials science)
- Understanding of product qualification and manufacturing
- Fluent communication skills in English, Porgutuese is ideal but not required
- Knowhow in lamination industry, converting and roll to roll production is considered as an advantage
- Capability to work in global team
- Team player mentality with open mindset
- Ability to travel occasionally and to support a 24/7 operation (on call support for 2nd and 3rd shift)
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
The ability to recognize and evaluate technical issues and limitations is required. The ability to define and manage expectations is critical. The ability to make sound decisions and actions is required.
