Inpatient Coding Specialist - Fully Remote Hospital Position

We are actively seeking three highly skilled Coding Specialists to contribute to our Health Information Management team in a fully remote capacity, subject to specific state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM diagnostic and procedure PCS codes for inpatient clinical encounters while adhering to regulatory frameworks and CMS Official Guidelines.
• Provide intermediate clinical inpatient support within the Health Information Management department, collaborating with leadership to manage various coding assignments from multiple discharge departments, including but not limited to Postpartum, Newborn, Cardiac ICU, and others.
• Engage with Health Information Management (HIM) staff to clarify documentation discrepancies and ensure complete and accurate coding practices.
• Maintain compliance with the American Hospital Association (AHA) Official Coding Guidelines and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards to enhance coding quality and accuracy.
  
  

Required Skills

• Minimum of 5 years of prior inpatient coding experience is essential, with a preference for candidates with experience in Level II Trauma center environments.
• Certification from AAPC or AHIMA is required (excludes apprenticeship classification).
• Strong proficiency in interpreting diagnostic statements, physician orders, and medical documentation to ensure coding precision.

• Demonstrated expertise in inpatient coding, with a focus on specialty areas such as Recurring Wound Care or Home Health being advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities are vital for navigating complex coding scenarios.

• Base Salary: USD \(56,056 to \)78,478
• Full-time employment status with a comprehensive benefits package.
