People Support Generalist

Description

We are seeking an HR Generalist for a 3-4 month contract job for a company based in Walnut Creek, California. This role involves working with HR data analytics, running ad hoc reports, and assisting with day-to-day HR operations, among other responsibilities. This role offers 100% remote possibility but ideally the candidate will live in the Bay Area to be able to attend All Hands meetings once a month or so.

Responsibilities

• Analyze HR data and generate ad hoc reports related to HR KPIs using Workday
• Assist with retention, turnover, headcount, training, and other HR reports to build management presentations
• Handle day-to-day HR operations and respond to HR inquiries
• Assist with employee relations and performance management as needed
• Administer benefits and understand Leave of Absence (LOA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and California Labor Laws
• Utilize your skills in communication, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, HR compliance, labor law, recruiting, training & development, data analysis, ad hoc reporting, Microsoft Excel, and pivot tables.
  
  

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role or similar position
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required
• Expertise in HR compliance and labor laws
• Proficient in handling Employee Relations and FMLA
• Experience in Benefits Administration
• Familiar with HR software like Workday
• Knowledge of Workers Compensation policies and procedures
• Experience in recruiting, including interviewing and hiring
• Ability to conduct and analyze HR surveys
• Experience in Training and Development
• Proficient in Data Analysis and Ad Hoc Reporting
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
• Professional HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information
• Familiarity with employment laws and best practices.
