The Data & Analytics Development Program is a 2‐year entry level development program designed to create well-rounded data and analytics professionals with a capability to solve complex business problems. Participants will rotate through 3 areas for 8 months each to gain a broad understanding of Data & Analytics at Casey’s. Areas for potential rotation include Enterprise Data Lake, Data Engineering, Analytics Solutions, Business Insights, Financial Analysis, or Analytics within a business team (Merchandising, Marketing, Asset Protection, HR, Etc.). Based on your experience and background, you'll join the team as an Associate Analyst or Associate Engineer. Key responsibilities for both roles are listed below.

Associate Analyst

  • Delivers desired analytical solution to meet business objectives and desired outcomes, based on requirements provided. Examples include presentations, visualizations, self-service BI, and more
  • Performs descriptive and diagnostic data mining and analysis through various techniques under the leadership of senior team members
  • Collaborates with team members and assists with summarizing findings and building presentations with support and direction from senior team members
  • Develops understanding of data analytics literacy, governance, and insights-driven culture across the organization. Active participant to strategic planning where appropriate

Associate Engineer

  • Develop end to end data pipelines using Azure Data Factory and Databricks (Python, SQL)
  • Evaluates source data systems and understands how to extract and model the data for Analytics and Data Science in collaboration with other engineers/analysts
  • Performs and documents thorough testing of data pipelines and data models to ensure data is accurate and pipelines are resilient and self-healing
  • Pairs with more senior team members and architects to design, implement, and maintain new data products
  • Collaborates with report developers and data analysts to implement use case specific data models when required
  • Maintains documentation on data flows and pipelines
  • Perform data analysis as required using T-SQL, Python, R, etc.

Requirements

  • Graduating in December 2024 or May 2025
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent major
  • Demonstrated leadership experience through internships, volunteer activities, or university clubs
  • A passion to solve problems in collaboration with others
  • Effective verbal communication and presentation abilities with proficiency working in a dynamic, fast-paced, and ambiguous environment
  • Ability to handle complex and confidential information with the appropriate levels of discretion
