The Safety and Loss Prevention Supervisor assists to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements and in the achievement of company safety goals and initiatives.
Specific Duties Include:
- Works collaboratively with leadership and employees to strengthen the company’s safety culture.
- Works with leaders to ensure compliance with regulations and alignment with company expectations.
- Creates and delivers safety-related reports and presentations.
- Develops and presents training and educational programs.
- Assists in the development, evaluation, revision, and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Maintains safety files and records.
- Performs safety surveys and inspections, prepares written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective or preventative measures.
- Assists in and may Investigate incidents and accidents to identify what caused them and how they might be prevented.
- Must maintain a driving record acceptable to Company policy.
- May assist in training of new employees.
- Must be able to travel overnight when required.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
- Knowledge of OSHA Standards, Federal, state, and local safety regulations, protocols, and/or procedures preferred
- Ability to perform safety inspections and ensuring compliance with OSHA safety standards
- Ability to gather data, compile information, prepare reports, and communicate to non-technical personnel.
- Ability to develop, implement, and enforce safety programs and protocols.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or a closely related field is desired but not required; three to five years minimum related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical including drug screen and background check.
- Possess a current driver's license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Present a professional appearance including wearing an approved uniform when required.
