Job Description

This position serves as the administrative assistant to a Michigan Public Service (MPSC) Commissioner and liaison to all parties with whom the Commissioner interacts, including industry and governmental agencies. This position predominantly and essentially functions to advise and assist the Commissioner in all areas for which they are responsible and at times serve as a proxy for the Commissioner in meetings and other matters. The position reports directly to a Commissioner yet may work directly with the Chair, Chief Operating Officer, and the other Commissioner in a consultant capacity and is typically involved in program planning, policy and procedures development, representing the Commissioner at meetings, deliberations preparation, development of presentations and talking points for the Commissioner’s speaking engagements, and assisting in all areas of the official’s responsibilities. The position also works as part of a team of advisors and in coordination with attorneys to brief Commissioners.

Required Education And Experience

Education

Possession of a bachelor's degree in any major.

Experience

Four years of professional experience, including two years equivalent to the experienced (P11) level or one year equivalent to the advanced (12) level.
