Sr. Accountant

We are inviting applications for the role of a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Redondo Beach, California. This role requires a strong focus on accounting and finance in a team-oriented environment, with an emphasis on accuracy and adherence to GAAP, GASB, and other standards. The Sr. Accountant will play a crucial role in enhancing our financial procedures, internal controls, and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the accounting team in tasks related to budgeting, payroll, accounts payable, and general ledger, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Prepare year-end adjustments, ensuring compliance with GASB, fixed assets, accruals, and transfers.
• Perform complex accounting analyses with a focus on fund and grant accounting.
• Support year-end close and preparation of financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and recommend improvements to accounting policies, internal controls, and system processes.
• Participate in financial system implementations and upgrades.
• Provide support in budget development and financial analysis.
• Manage special projects and provide technical support across departments.
• Supervise and train accounting staff, ensuring performance meets objectives.
• Address customer complaints and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide administrative support to the Finance Director.
