Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Manage the day-to-day activities of the data science team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
- Develop and implement the data science strategy, aligning it with the company's overall business objectives.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in data science, AI, and machine learning, and incorporate relevant innovations into the team's work.
- Work closely with internal and external customers to understand their specific requirements, challenges and objectives related to data and analytics in their respective areas. This involves identifying pain points and opportunities for improvement.
- Plan, execute, and deliver data science projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within scope.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into data-driven solutions.
- Act as a hands-on technical contributor in data analysis and modeling.
- Apply advanced statistical, machine learning, and AI techniques to analyze complex datasets and develop predictive models.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of data analysis and model outputs.
- Communicate findings and insights to stakeholders through presentations, reports, and data visualizations.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, team performance, and key metrics.
- Work closely with other departments across Marmon Foodservice Technologies, such as IT, marketing, engineering, product management and finance, to leverage data science for business growth and efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and industry experts.
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data science.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar.
- Proven expertise in statistical analysis, machine learning, and AI techniques.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Spark) is a plus.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
- Knowledge of data governance and data privacy regulations.
