Summary: The Site Manager - Human Capital & Culture will lead the human resources and safety functions at our Rock Hill manufacturing and warehousing facility. This role will manage a workforce of approximately 100 employees, including office staff, with direct oversight of an HR Coordinator. The Site Manager will be responsible for employee relations, recruitment, training and development, strategic resource planning, company culture improvements, and ensuring compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and safety regulations. Additionally, this role will lead company-wide EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior HR leadership experience and a proven track record of being influential with site management.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions (include but not limited to):

  • Human Resources Leadership: Oversee HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management, with the HR Coordinator reporting directly to this role. Ensure HR practices support business objectives and drive a positive work culture.
  • Employee Engagement and Culture: Champion company culture initiatives to foster a positive, inclusive, and engaged workforce. Identify and implement programs to improve employee satisfaction, collaboration, and retention.
  • Strategic Resource Planning: Collaborate with site management to align workforce planning with operational goals. Develop strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and succession planning to ensure the site is well-positioned to meet future demands.
  • Training and Development: Lead the development and implementation of employee training and development programs. Partner with managers to identify skill gaps, create individual development plans, and ensure employees have access to career growth opportunities.
  • Influence with Site Management: Serve as a strategic partner to site leadership, providing insights and recommendations on HR and culture matters. Influence decision-making through effective communication and data-driven analysis to support operational success.
  • Compliance and HR Policies: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies. Manage site-specific HR policies, including wage and hour regulations, EEO, and diversity policies.
  • Lead Company-Wide EHS Initiatives: Act as the primary leader for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) programs across the entire organization. Develop, implement, and maintain safety protocols that ensure a safe working environment company wide. Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other regulatory requirements, conduct regular safety audits, lead incident investigations, and drive continuous improvement in EHS programs across all sites. Promote workplace safety and wellness across the organization through training, health initiatives, and proactive prevention of workplace injuries.
  • Employee Relations: Act as the primary contact for employee concerns, fostering an open-door policy to resolve issues effectively. Provide support to management for conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Metrics and Reporting: Track and analyze HR and safety metrics. Use data to make recommendations and implement improvements in HR strategies and safety performance.
  • Change Management: Lead HR and EHS-related initiatives during periods of organizational change, ensuring smooth transitions and supporting continuous improvement efforts across the company.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and have IDs needed to verify.
  • English proficient (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension)
  • Computer savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office

Sensory Requirements: Should have working use of hearing and vision with or without the use of corrective lenses/hearing aids to be able to read paperwork, work on a computer screen for an extended period of time, and frequently speak on the phone.

Education/Experience/License Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR leadership experience, with a proven track record of working effectively with site management; manufacturing or warehousing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations, training and development, workforce planning, and culture improvement initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate with leadership at all levels.
  • Experience in leading company-wide safety initiatives and EHS compliance.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HR and safety software systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • SHRM, PHR, or EHS certification preferred but not required.

Language Skills: English proficiency required (reading, writing, speaking, comprehension). Knowledge of an additional language(s) is a plus!

Work Environment: This position is based at the Rock Hill, SC facility, with frequent interaction on the manufacturing and warehouse floors as well as with office staff. Occasional travel to other company locations may be required.
