Job Summary

The Personnel Commission announces an OPEN and PROMOTIONAL recruitment. This recruitment will result in the establishment of one integrated eligibility list. Promotional candidates will have seniority points added to final passing scores (.25 of a point for every year of classified service up to a maximum of 5 points). This list will be used to fill current and future vacancies and will be active for one year or until canceled. There is currently ONE positions open at Lincoln Middle School. This is an 8 hour/day, 10 month position. Under the direction of an assigned supervisor, perform a variety of clerical duties related to student attendance reporting and record-keeping; assume responsibility for all phases of accounting for student attendance; and input and update attendance data for Average Daily Attendance (ADA) required reporting.

Requirements / Qualifications

Training and Experience: Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade, supplemented by or including course work in typing and office practices; two years of progressively responsible clerical work, some of which has included working with financial reports and public contact; or any combination of training and/or experience that could likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities. Knowledge of: Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, punctuation, and composition. Modern office methods, procedures, and equipment. Laws and regulations of the Education Code and the district pertaining to attendance accounting. Ability to: Independently perform a variety of difficult clerical work involving use of judgment, accuracy, and speed. Proficiently operate standard office equipment. Make arithmetical calculations with accuracy and speed. Deal tactfully and discreetly with the public. Communicate effectively with students, public, and staff. Compile and maintain accurate and complete records and reports. Supervise the work of others. Understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
