Description

PURPOSE OF POSITION

The Director of Sales at Press-Seal is a visionary leader responsible for shaping the future of the company’s growth through strategic sales leadership and innovative customer engagement. A key focus of this role is implementing robust processes and systems within the sales department. The Director of Sales will drive continuous improvement by building and optimizing these processes to support scalability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This position will be instrumental in fostering a culture of operational excellence and process discipline, ensuring that the sales function becomes data-driven, streamlined, and aligned with long-term company objectives.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business prospects to expand the company’s customer base.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to align sales strategies with market needs.
  • Explore and implement new sales venues such as web sales platforms and utilize purchasing lists for targeted selling.
  • Sales Leadership and Strategy:
  • Lead and motivate the sales team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company’s goals.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats.
  • Work closely with the executive team to bring continuous improvement to the sales and customer service processes.
  • Creation and Implementation of Sales Processes:
  • Develop, document, and implement comprehensive sales processes and workflows that cover all aspects of the sales cycle, from lead generation to closing and post-sale follow-up.
  • Design and standardize processes around customer engagement, pipeline management, sales forecasting, and performance tracking.
  • Identify key sales metrics and implement tools to track and monitor sales performance effectively.
  • Lead the effort to introduce and institutionalize these processes within the sales team, ensuring full adoption by all team members.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to the sales team to ensure understanding and consistent application of these new processes.
  • Work with other departments, such as marketing and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of sales processes with broader company initiatives.
  • Build a culture of accountability and process adherence within the sales team to ensure a high level of operational excellence.
  • Be prepared to address challenges in implementing processes within an organization that previously operated without formal sales systems, ensuring a smooth transition to a structured and scalable sales framework.
  • Growth and Development of Sales Team and Department:
  • Strategically expand the sales team to meet the growing demands of the business.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development including the use of educational videos and marketing materials.
  • Create and foster a Sales Internship program to fuel growth.
  • Implement and leverage AI tools to support and enhance sales department functions.
  • Succession Planning and Staffing:
  • Develop a strategic succession plan for the sales department to ensure continuity in leadership and sales excellence.
  • Identify future staffing needs based on sales forecasts and growth objectives.
  • Mentor and develop potential leaders within the team.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
  • Regularly report on sales performance against targets providing insights and action plans for improvement.
  • Analyze sales data to understand trends and make data-driven decisions.
  • Customer Relationship Management:
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and address any issues that may arise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a sales leadership role with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
  • Experience in developing and implementing sales processes that drive operational efficiency and consistency throughout the sales process.
  • Experience in strategic planning, business development, succession planning and implementing innovative sales strategies.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in sales and CRM software with a willingness to adopt new technologies such as AI to enhance sales processes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business marketing or related field is preferred.
  • Ability to Travel 50%.
