About our client:

Our client is a leading Indian pharmaceutical company, headquartered in Bengaluru and a footprint across 100 countries. The company manufactures pharmaceutical products, over-the-counter drugs, and nutraceuticals. They operate two business verticals, Regulated Markets and Emerging Markets. Their manufacturing footprint covers 8 manufacturing facilities in 4 continents, including 5 US FDA approved facilities and a dedicated R&D facility in India with global filing capabilities.

The company partners with generic companies in US and Canada, to supply retail and hospital generics in injectable products and soft gels. In European markets, it has long-term relationships for the development of projects and supply agreements. In Australia and New Zealand, the company is engaged in manufacturing and supply of soft gels and value-added manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Partner with distributors to create marketing programs and manage key accounts.
  • Sales and Marketing: Develop and execute trade marketing strategies with the support of digital and social media campaigns.

Distribution Expansion:

  • Contribute to the launch and growth of our products in the US market and to win new distribution accounts in the US.

Relationship Building:

  • Strengthen internal and external relationships to increase lead generation and market share.

Financial Acumen:

  • Understand product margin, value chain, and sales P&L to inform marketing and sales strategies.

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop and implement the overall strategy for OTC brands to drive growth, market share, and profitability.
  • Identify new market opportunities and trends to keep the brand portfolio competitive.

Product Management:

  • Oversee the lifecycle of OTC products, including development, launch, and ongoing management.
  • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, and quality assurance teams to ensure product standards and compliance.

Customer Focus:

  • Understand and address customer needs and preferences to enhance product offerings and customer satisfaction.
  • Implement feedback mechanisms to continuously improve products and services.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business administration, or related field. An MBA is a plus.

Experience:

  • 7-10 years in sales or marketing, with a focus on consumer/retail, branded healthcare, OTC products, or consumer services.
  • Experience in working with digital media and social media marketing is desirable.
  • Experience in a start-up division or a young growth company is highly preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strategic planning and big-picture thinking.
  • Effective organisational skills and the ability to communicate concisely about products/services.
  • Basic financial and business acumen.
  • Enthusiasm, sincerity, and a fast learner.
  • Familiarity with technology and platforms relevant to the field.
  • Articulate and able to present effectively in front of key accounts.
  • Experience with social media marketing or e-commerce (e.g., Amazon) is desirable but not mandatory.
